Alstede Farms has always been more than just a farm – it’s a cornerstone of our community, a destination for family fun, and a symbol of sustainable growth. Rooted in a rich heritage, we’re dedicated to preserving the traditions that make our farm special while embracing innovative practices to ensure a bright future for future generations.
A Legacy of Farming
Since our earliest days, Alstede Farms has been deeply connected to the land we call home. Our story is steeped in history, from the preservation of landmarks like the Jared Haines House to the careful cultivation of nearly fifty types of apples across 45 acres. Each crop, each tree, and each harvest speaks to our commitment to nurturing the land and providing fresh, homegrown produce to our community.
Founded by Kurt W. Alstede in 1982, the farm’s legacy continues to grow stronger. Today, the next generation is stepping into leadership, with Kurt’s wife Mary, and their two eldest daughters joining the team. Their insights and dedication ensure that Alstede Farms remains a vibrant and innovative part of the community for years to come.
Embracing Sustainability
We’re not just farmers; we’re stewards of the earth. Our regenerative farming practices help protect the soil, preserve water resources, and reduce waste. Innovations like implementing crop cover for water conservation, weed control, and using recyclable materials reflect our commitment to eco-friendly farming. By prioritizing sustainability, we ensure that our land remains fertile and productive for future generations and continues to be a source of healthy food.
Family-Friendly Experiences
At Alstede Farms, every season is a celebration. From pick-your-own adventures to Harvest Moon nights, there’s something for everyone. Families can enjoy the beauty of the sunflower trail, the challenge of our Alstede Fresh Corn Maze, or the simple joy of feeding our farm animals. With amenities like ADA-compliant wagon rides and a courtesy coach shuttle, we make it easy for everyone to join in the fun.
Fresh Flavors, Every Season
Our dedication to quality shines through in every bite. From juicy peaches and sweet corn in the summer to crisp apples and hearty pumpkins in the fall, and everything in between, we’re proud to offer a diverse array of non-GMO fruits and vegetables to please every palate. Each season brings new flavors, from farm-fresh asparagus salsa in the spring to our famous Honeycrisp apple cider in the fall, ensuring every visit is a feast for the senses.
Cultivating Community
Alstede Farms isn’t just a place to pick produce – it’s a place to connect. Our farm-to-table breakfasts, live music events, and educational pick-your-own experiences create opportunities for families and friends to come together. Whether you’re stopping in for our weekly produce boxes or sipping hard cider at our Cider Garden, every experience is rooted in our commitment to the community.
We’re also proud to support those in need through food donations to the Interfaith Food Pantry, local food banks, and other charitable organizations such as Table of Hope. By sharing the bounty of our farm, we’re strengthening our connection to the community and helping to make a difference.
Growing for Tomorrow
Our mission remains clear as we look to the future: cultivating joy, one season at a time. By blending tradition with innovation, we’re creating a farm that’s as sustainable as it is welcoming for all generations. We’re honored to share our journey with you and invite you to be part of our story.
Whether you’re a long-time visitor or discovering Alstede Farms for the first time, we’re here to celebrate the beauty of nature, the bounty of the land, and the joy of community – today, tomorrow, and for years to come.
