New Year’s Eve is rapidly approaching and we want to help you ring in the new year in a healthy and delicious way! Reinvent your NYE appetizers to include kale, which is now in season. Kale will provide a nutritious boost to your appetizers and help you eat healthy in the new year.
Try a few of these delicious and simple recipes to serve for New Year’s Eve at home or reinvent your current recipes to incorporate kale for a true farm to table experience with little effort but lots of super dense food nutrition!
Try making a quick kale & spinach yogurt dip by combining Greek yogurt with sautéed chopped shallots, homegrown garlic and kale with salt and pepper and parmesan cheese. Serve this dip warm or at room temperature with fresh or grilled veggies for a tasty and guilt free appetizer. Prepare a quick tomato bruschetta by combining chopped farm fresh tomatoes with diced red onions, fresh torn basil and a bit of balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. Serve this tomato bruschetta on toasted baguette rounds to enjoy a fresh, low fat appetizer. Or you may easily stop into our farm store and pick up our fresh made garbanzo or black bean hummus or one of our fresh cucumber salsa, guacamole or Pico de Gallo dips for a healthful alternative to meat or cheese platters. Serve the fresh dips with veggies or crackers for a crowd pleasing favorite. It’s easy to transform your holiday table into a farm to fork menu with a little thought and know how.
