Alstede Farms is proud to be able to give back to our community in a variety of ways including donation of fresh, homegrown produce throughout the year. Alstede Farms contributes to various organizations that help feed people, and provide food security, ultimately improving the food landscape for our community. Our top benefactors include; Interfaith Food Pantry Network, Table of Hope, and others.
These food donations have improved the health and well-being of members of our community by providing access to healthy fruits and vegetables to those in need and who may otherwise go without. Our donations include fresh fruit and vegetables grown on our farm sent to the Interfaith Food Pantry Network weekly (in season) contributing toward their distribution of over a million meals in 2023 which accommodated more than 39,000 family visits to their facility last year. We have dedicated our resources toward helping this organization feed people throughout the state through its various programs and outreach.
We also partner throughout the year with Table of Hope and Spring Street CDC which is an organization that serves free-to-go meals to the community in addition to hosting weekly food distributions and several holiday food distributions in Morris County. We have dedicated our resources of homegrown fruits and vegetables toward helping this organization feed people throughout the state through its various programs and outreach.
All of these efforts helped us donate over 54,200 pounds of food in 2021, over 80,000 pounds of food in 2022, and over 55,000 pounds of food in 2023! Thank you for your contribution to these efforts with your support of our family-owned farm and by shopping farm fresh and local. We can’t wait to continue to do more good in 2024.
Our farm is an integral part of the community, a food hub, connecting locals to homegrown, healthy fruits and vegetables and other farm-fresh local products including dairy, eggs, meats, and bread. With locations situated throughout the state, our farm store in Chester, our farm market in Jefferson/Wharton, and our Farm Stand in Bridgewater make it easier for members of our Community Supported Agriculture to receive their weekly boxes of healthy produce. Our farm also participates in over 18 different farmers markets throughout the state increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables and weekly membership boxes of fresh produce.
