Enjoy ultimate fall fun with a visit to the giant “Adventures in Chester” corn maze at Alstede Farms. Getting lost is part of the fun as you navigate the twists and turns of this giant ten-acre maze highlighting Chester’s historical past and celebrating its strong agricultural influences.
The maze design features over-sized fruits and vegetables exemplifying the importance of this region’s agricultural roots, an over-sized gristmill depicting the nearby Cooper Gristmill, still in use today and earning a spot on the national register of historic places, along with the First Congregational Church, distinctly recognized as the oldest church west of the Hudson River. Special educational opportunities inside the maze include learning about the mining roots of Chester, history of inns & taverns, interesting facts about the iconic telephone pole farm, Black River nostalgia, and the story of Alstede Farms!
Little ones can join in the fun by visiting the kid-sized maze to learn interesting facts about animals and fruit on the farm.
True challenge seekers should plan to attend a Harvest Moon Hayride event where you can journey your way through the maze by flashlight at night and enjoy a family-friendly tractor-drawn wagon ride along with live entertainment, a warm campfire, and plenty of fresh pressed hot apple cider.
