Highlands Farmers Adventure

We are excited to present this year’s program leaders:

Jenn Borealo, CSA Culinary Expert and Teacher:

Jennifer Borealo

Jenn Borealo

“I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics and I have taught Culinary Arts in Morris County Schools for over 20 years. I have worked with our campers now for 8 years. I am an avid gardener and I enjoy all kinds of handcrafts and I want to bring that joy to our campers. I started working here at the farm 23 years ago and I find that everyday there is always something new to learn here.

Campers have a chance to interact with the farm animals. Children who attend farm camp learn where their food comes from by planting, caring for plants, and harvesting. They start to realize how nature takes care of nature. Campers have a chance to prepare and taste some of the foods that they pick.

Campers will work in the greenhouses with seeds, seedlings, and bulbs, so that learning will continue as they garden at home.

This is a true working farm and every day, week, and season are different.  There is always something new to see and explore on the farm and in the fields.”

“We will have the run of the farm and most importantly, have fun on the farm! Come on down and see how it’s done here. I did! This will be my 45th year and 10th at the farm in the fruit industry and I love it. Growing up, the orchards were my backyard and my playground. Can’t wait to see you there!”
