Spookley the square pumpkin
Celebrate the fall at Alstede farms and visit Spookley as part of our fall group tours
Spookley the Square Pumpkin is a unique pumpkin that delivers a special message of tolerance and kindness that is just right for fall…and any time of the year!
(Fall Farm Tours Available September – November)
Spookley was first introduced to millions of children in the book The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, in which he is shunned by all of the round pumpkins until a mighty storm threatens to destroy the entire pumpkin patch and only Spookley, with his unique shape, can save the day. Square is Cool!
Spookley the Square Pumpkin has been embraced by educators and non-profit organizations because his story helps teach about fundamental character values.
“I teach second grade and I have a two and a three-year-old at home. Using Spookley to introduce bullying to children at such a young age was a perfect way to introduce a difficult topic” -Elementary School Teacher, NJ
Spookley is the “Official Spokes-Pumpkin” for National Bullying Prevention Month in October through a partnership with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. Alstede Farms is delighted to be partnering with Spookley and PACER to raise awareness for bullying prevention.
Educators can download free Spookley-themed activity sheets and lesson plans by registering online at the Holiday Hill Farm website. Educators can also access teaching materials for bullying prevention at the PACER National Bullying Prevention Center Website
