Event Calendar“Pick Your Own” season on our farm begins officially with strawberries. Strawberry season is a long-awaited one that begins at the end of May and will continue several weeks until the end of June when the weather gets warmer, triggering the end of their season. Not to worry because after strawberries the picking season will continue with a variety of new fruits and vegetables, view our annual harvest guide for more seasonal picking information.

Strawberry picking is so much fun for all ages. Who doesn’t love getting outside on a sunny day on our scenic farm to enjoy time in nature? Our farm boasts 23 acres of strawberries and we plant many varieties so that you can enjoy strawberries longer into the season. Part of pick your admission includes our farm tractor-drawn wagon rides around our 378 acres property which includes passing by our Christmas tree barn and Christmas tree nursery, our cross situated at the highest point in Chester Township, along with many scenic views of the orchards, contoured grounds, and the like. While you are visiting be sure to look for beautiful songbirds, butterflies, and other adorable pollinators. Be sure to snap the perfect family pic on one of our tractors, photo ops, friendly farm animal, or other scenic view on your visit.

Insiders know that the best time to visit the farm is during the weekdays for a more intimate experience along with cost savings. Once you arrive, you can check into our farm entrance with your QR received with your advanced purchase tickets to pick up your wristbands, map, and container for picking. Hop on the tractor-drawn wagon ride after taking some fun photos at the wagon loading stop. Then off to your adventure!

The tractor will take you to the best picking location for that day so be sure to follow our lead. You will also want to look for fully ripe berries to pick, meaning that if some have a white tip leave them in the field to further ripen. You will know the berries are ripe when you give them a slight tug and they release from their stem. Fully ripe berries taste best and are going to provide you with the best flavor and sweetness. You may see green berries when in the field along with white flowers. Do not disturb them as they will grow into future juicy strawberries!

Once you have had your fill of picking, be sure to check out the Farmhouse District consisting of food trucks for your farm-to-table experience. Also, check out Ironbound Hard Cider Garden and our Alstede Fresh Creamery to savor homemade ice cream made from many of our farm-fresh ingredients. Learn more about your springtime visit here.
