You can’t get any fresher or more local than picking your own fruits and vegetables! And picking with your family and friends is a very enjoyable experience – a great ‘staycation’ activity or daytrip outing — fun to do with a healthy bonus at the end! There is a lot being written about the Farm to Table meal and the fact that the sooner a fruit or vegetable is consumed after it has been picked, the better tasting and more nutritious it is. And since we are all concerned about reducing our carbon footprint, buying local or picking your own fruits and vegetables means that what you are consuming has not been shipped across the country, burning many gallons of fossil fuel.
And the variety you will find at Alstede Farms is vast. We produce over 250 different kinds of fruits and vegetables, all sustainably grown and whether it’s sweet or savory, we have options for all as we have opened all of our fields to you for your picking pleasure. From Strawberries, Blueberries and Raspberries, to Summer Squash, Tomatoes, Corn, Peaches, Apples, Pumpkins and more…there is something for every taste bud! We even have Cut Your Own Flowers!

Remember Pick Your Own (PYO) is open every day from 9 am to 7 pm. You get FREE hayrides to all the picking areas and each person gets a $3.00 coupon towards his or her purchase…all for the admission price of $5.00 per person (children under 2 are FREE!). And then there is also our Mid-Week Quick Pick Special — every Tuesday & Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – which gives you FREE admission to the PYO areas and FREE hayride transportation to all picking fields. This is great for moms groups, senior groups, or anyone who just wants to save a little money!
