| It is the goal of the entire staff at Alstede Farms to provide you and your family with a clean, friendly, and welcoming environment on our farm. In order to ensure this, we have implemented the following new rules which apply to all Pick Your Own activities:
Everyone (age 2 and above) who enters the farm beyond the Pick Your Own Gate will pay a $5 admission fee on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. The fee will include unlimited free access to the hay wagon ride, which provides transportation to the picking areas, as well as a $3 coupon towards your PYO purchase. You will pick your fruit in our beautiful farm and bring it back to the gate to be weighed. You show your Admission Coupon for the money you have put towards your purchase and simply pay the balance due (if any). Free admission to our Pick Your Own areas is offered Monday through Thursday of each week, although there is no transportation to the picking areas available on those days. Please note that hayrides will now be available continuously every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & holidays from 9 am - 7 pm.
Q: What is the best option for children’s admission?
A: You have 2 ways to get your child admission into the farm: you can purchase an all inclusive wristband for your child to enjoy unlimited access to the pony rides, moon bounce, corn kingdom and the hay wagon ride and access to the PYO areas; or you can pay $5 for the general admission, pick fruit and enjoy unlimited access to the hay wagon ride. With the general admission price, your child will get a $3 coupon towards the fruits they pick, with the $12.95 wristband they will not receive a coupon.
Q: What if I pick less than $3 worth of fruit?
A: There is no change provided for PYO purchases made for less than $3, however, we find that most PYO purchases average greater than $5, and PYO purchases under $3 are extremely rare.
Q: Is it all right to eat while we pick?
A: No, please don’t. We have never allowed people to eat fruit before paying. In fact, taking or consuming goods without paying for them is considered stealing in any other setting.
Q: Why are you making these changes?
A: We want everyone to be able to enjoy the experience of picking their own fruit here for many years to come. The reality is that the costs of opening up our beautiful, privately-owned, preserved farm is huge and growing each year. These increased costs have resulted from higher liability insurance premiums and the increased cost associated with doing business in New Jersey. Our fields and orchards have been open to the public for over 25 years and these changes will ensure that they will continue to be open for many years to come.
Q. What happens if it rains?
A. Just like farming, you can experience great weather but it can also rain. In the event of rain, we have several covered picnic areas where customers and guests can wait out the rain. Several family fun activities such as hayrides, pony rides, moonbounce and more may be temporarily closed if it rains. All activities will resume once the rain ends. You are always welcome to pick in the rain and many customers do!
Q. What is your ticket policy?
A. All ticket sales are final, non-refundable or exhangeable.
Q: What happens if I have an Alstede Farms Fun Pass?
A: Fun Pass owners enjoy unlimited access to the PYO areas and the hay wagon ride. In addition, each child fun pass holder may have an adult accompany them into the pick your own area (and hayrides) free of charge. They won’t receive a $3 coupon, but can enter whenever they would like. Another reason why you should own one!
